I have taught for 19 years in a number of schools in Cheshire, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, developing a wealth of experience in a variety of teaching and leadership roles. I have a great belief in the power of education as a force for positive social change and see it as critically important in helping young people to develop to their full potential. My current role, leading on the Curriculum at Haywood Academy and City College, gives me the huge opportunity to shape what our students learn – helping them to become tomorrow’s citizens and equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful. Also, my role of leading our Community Strategy means that I have the chance to work with our students, staff and families in making Haywood Academy and City College as inclusive and supportive as possible.
