We are a new type of college aimed at preparing students for the modern world – from our special partnership with some of the top universities in England and across the world, the hundreds of businesses that offer work placement opportunities or apprenticeships, to our students, we have a special experience on offer for you.

We value your aspirations for the future and are fully committed to supporting you in your university or careers based journey. One of our great strengths is that we offer a continuity of experience and that we are small enough to care for every student on a personal level. Many of our college students will choose to stay with us at the end of their year 11 studies in an environment where they are known and which encourages the highest standards. If you are new to City College, you will soon find that you become known to staff and peers and are part of a supportive, welcoming community that aims to provide a personalised college experience to maximise your full potential.

Personal mentors support students on a one-to-one basis and monitor their progress and attainment so that they feel supported and encouraged during their transition to the adult world. Making decisions about the next stage of your education is both exciting and challenging; exciting in the sense that you can now choose to focus on the experience that will lead you to success and enjoyment, and challenging, because you need to make informed decisions, which will open career options for your future. Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974

All posts involving direct contact with children are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. However, amendments to the Exceptions order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered, prior to the date of the interview. You may be asked for further information about your criminal history during the recruitment process. If your application is successful, this self-disclosure information will be checked against information from the Disclosure & Barring service before your appointment is confirmed.
